This book, with Stephen Jenkinson’s foreword, is a story about nature and life and death. Noa is a child who is confused. Noa is trying to understand what’s going on in the world. Noa’s heart is broken because the adults are not curious about what’s going on in the world, they do not have any questions. Heartbroken, Noa embarks on a journey guided by the Mountain, the River and the Forest. Astonished by the wonders Noa encounters during this journey, Noa explores the life cycle of the Monarch butterflies from the egg on the Milkweed to the cocoon, from the caterpillar to the butterfly. In the end Noa finally comes across death and realizes it is also what’s going on in the world.
