Rüya, also known by her artistic alias Rigitit, is an illustrator and visual artist born in 1993 in Trabzon and raised in Ankara. Drawing has always been a fundamental part of her life. Her artistic journey formally began in 2006 with an art course in Samsun, which led to her acceptance into Samsun Fine Arts High School in 2008. During these formative years, she explored a range of disciplines including painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking.

She went on to study Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Başkent University and later completed a master’s degree in the same field at Anadolu University. While design deeply shaped her way of thinking, she gradually discovered that illustration was where she felt most at home—particularly inspired by the children’s books and picture stories she revisited during that period.

As a designer, she values the principle of “less is more”; as an illustrator, she leans towards the idea that “less is a bore.” Her visual language continues to grow somewhere between these two beliefs.

Today, Rüya works on personal projects and collaborates with individuals and organisations on illustration-focused work. Her creative world is shaped by stories, emotions, everyday life, women, childhood memories, cats, and the spontaneous pages of her sketchbooks. She also has a love for writing—often scribbling short texts and pairing them with small, expressive drawings.
