Burcu Koçer Oruç is an illustrator living in Delft, the Netherlands. She was born in Ankara in 1989. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University. After working on environmental and sustainability projects for years, she changed her career path through her passion for illustration. Since 2020, she has been working as a full-time illustrator for picture books and young readers. She lives a life full of sustainable and eco-friendly routines. She loves long bike rides, picnics, visiting organic farms and markets, spending entire days in museums, and taking care of her flowers while enjoying her morning coffee. She practices yoga and tai-chi. Anything she enjoys, such as a good movie or a newly discovered song, inspires her to draw with even greater enthusiasm. She uses digital techniques in her works. In addition to her love for experimenting in ceramics and sculpture, she keeps sketchbooks with traditional drawing techniques.
