Gözde Başkent was born in Ankara in 1982. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Painting from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2007. She completed her Master’s degree at her alma mater with a thesis researching the interactions between painting and illustration in 2010. She attended illustration courses at Accademia di Belle Arti Bologna, where she spent a term during her MA studies.
Using both traditional and digital techniques, her illustrations are inspired by nature’s competency to bring colors together.
